Zero365 connects to your Microsoft 365 tenant through Microsoft Graph and backs up each workload with its own semantics — not as a flat file dump.
Every mailbox, every message — backed up and searchable
Primary and shared mailboxes, calendars, contacts, and tasks — captured with full MIME fidelity and delta sync. Restore individual items to their original location or an alternative mailbox, export as EML or ZIP, and preview before committing. Non-destructive by default: existing items stay untouched.
Files, versions, and permissions — intact
Drive hierarchy with delta-first sync, point-in-time restore, and ACL/permission recovery. In a ransomware scenario, the restore-only-if-hash-differs mode recovers only what actually changed — surgical recovery instead of a full rollback.
Document libraries and structured lists — not just files
Zero365 backs up both document libraries and list-backed structured content, including custom column values. Restore items with their metadata to the original site or an alternative location. SharePoint ransomware recovery uses the same hash-based differential mode as OneDrive.
Channels and chats — captured honestly
Standard, private, and shared channels plus 1:1 and group chats. Because Microsoft Graph does not allow writing messages back into live channels, Zero365 restores Teams data as structured export bundles — JSON messages with manifests, downloadable through the app. We don't claim live replay because the API doesn't support it.
Identity objects — recoverable three ways
Users, groups, applications, and service principals with membership and ownership. Three restore paths: soft-delete recovery within 30 days, full object recreation with a new ID, or property replay via PATCH. Group membership is restored add-only. Conditional access policies and license assignments are deferred to a future release — we state the boundary clearly.

You choose where your backup data is stored — S3, Azure Blob, Google Cloud Storage, SFTP, WebDAV, or even a local filesystem. Zero365 writes encrypted payload into your repository through Kopia. Your data never sits on our infrastructure unless you choose to host it there.
No — and we don't claim otherwise. Microsoft Graph does not allow writing messages back into Teams channels. Zero365 restores Teams data as structured export bundles (JSON with manifests), downloadable through the application. This is an honest reflection of the current API limitation.
Zero365 is a standalone SaaS product with a BYOR model — you pick the repository backend and control the encryption keys. It uses Microsoft Graph exclusively (no legacy APIs), provides workload-aware restore semantics for each M365 service, and runs as a containerized platform. Veeam's product has its own architecture and repository model — both are valid approaches for different operational preferences.
